Your Vision, Our Craft

Bespoke carpet design is a collaborative process. We work directly with architects, interior designers, hospitality operators, and private clients to translate creative vision into handcrafted floor coverings manufactured entirely in our Epirus facility. Every bespoke commission is unique, reflecting the aesthetic and functional requirements of its intended space.

Unlike catalogue products, bespoke carpets are customised across all dimensions: dimensions, colour palette, surface patterns, edge finishes, and fibre sourcing. Whether you require a specific size for a residential interior, branded colour coordination for a hotel, or sacred geometry for a church installation, we develop solutions tailored to your brief.

The Bespoke Process

Our co-design methodology is structured to ensure clarity, alignment, and on-time delivery:

1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a comprehensive design brief covering project scope, spatial context, aesthetic direction, and functional requirements. This conversation establishes timeline expectations and budget parameters. All communications are conducted in formal, documented format to create a clear record of requirements.

2. Design Brief & Specification

Our design team works with your requirements to develop a detailed specification document. This includes proposed dimensions, colour palette with reference samples, pattern geometry or surface treatment options, and edge finish preferences. We provide mood boards, colour swatches, and reference imagery to ensure mutual understanding before production commences.

3. Colour & Pattern Selection

Clients select from our standard colour library or specify custom colour matching. Patterns may be geometric, floral, monochrome, abstract, or hybrid compositions. We produce digital previews or physical samples to validate colour interaction and pattern scale before commitment to production.

4. Prototype & Sample Approval

For complex commissions, we produce a production sample section in the specified colours and patterns. This allows tactile evaluation of fibre hand, colour accuracy, and pattern definition. Samples are approved before full production commences, minimising revision risk and ensuring colour and construction integrity throughout the full piece.

5. Production & Quality Assurance

The carpet is manufactured in-house using our established handcrafting methods. Quality control verifies dimensional accuracy, fibre integrity, colour consistency, pattern precision, and edge finishing. Production timeline varies based on complexity; typical lead times range from 12–16 weeks from approval to delivery.

6. Delivery & Installation Support

We arrange logistics coordination and provide installation guidance specific to your project requirements. Delivery documentation includes care instructions, material composition details, and production batch records. Post-delivery support is available to address any questions regarding maintenance or product performance.

What Can Be Customised

Bespoke production accommodates customisation across the following dimensions:

  • Dimensions: Any size or shape, including rectangular, square, round, oval, or custom geometric profiles. Dimensions are flexible across a wide range of sizes and shapes. Custom shapes require additional engineering and may incur surcharge.
  • Colour Palette: Matched to client-specified references. We maintain a library of 40+ standard colour options and offer custom colour matching. Multi-colour designs with geometric or abstract patterning are fully supported.
  • Patterns: Geometric designs (stripes, grids, hexagons, tessellations), floral motifs, abstract compositions, monochrome textures, or hybrid approaches combining multiple pattern elements. Pattern complexity influences production timeline and may impact cost.
  • Edge Finishing: Standard binding, braided borders in contrasting colours, piped edges with decorative cord, or serged finishing. Edge treatments contribute to aesthetic definition and durability in high-traffic perimeters.
  • Fibre Sourcing: Standard wool (Greece/Bulgaria), rare-breed wool (Boutsiko, Frizarta, Katsikas; subject to availability), or blended compositions. Fibre selection impacts colour saturation, texture, and conservation provenance.

Who Uses Bespoke Carpets

Our bespoke production serves multiple professional and private constituencies:

  • Architects: Interior and landscape architects specify bespoke carpets as signature elements in residential, commercial, and public projects. Customisation enables direct integration with architectural material palettes and spatial geometry.
  • Interior Designers: Design practitioners use bespoke commissions to establish brand identity, respond to client-specific aesthetic preferences, and create continuity across curated interiors.
  • Hospitality Operators: Hotels, resorts, and high-end restaurants commission branded or custom-designed carpets to enhance guest experience and reinforce corporate visual identity. Our experience across 40 hotel installations in Greece ensures proven hospitality-grade performance.
  • Church & Sacred Space Committees: Religious institutions commission custom carpets with symbolic geometry, liturgical colours, or heritage-inspired patterns. With over 400 ecclesiastical installations across Greece, we bring unmatched experience in sacred space applications that emphasise durability, reverence, and community narratives.
  • Private Clients: Residential clients commission bespoke carpets to address unique spatial constraints, reflect personal aesthetic vision, or respond to heirloom or cultural preferences.

Technical Specifications

All bespoke carpets conform to the same technical standard as our catalogue offerings:

  • Fibre composition: 99% wool / 1% polyamide (synthetic backing)
  • Pile height: 10 mm
  • Weight: Dense, durable construction
  • Construction: Double-face reversible (usable on both sides)
  • Finishing: Custom edge options including standard binding, braided borders, piped edges, or serged finishing
  • Customisation: Full-scale dimensional flexibility, unlimited colour options, bespoke pattern design, custom fibre sourcing (standard or rare-breed)

Each bespoke carpet undergoes comprehensive quality assurance testing to verify dimensional accuracy, fibre integrity, colour consistency, pattern precision, and edge finishing. Production documentation includes design approval, colour reference, pattern specification, and batch quality records.

Care & Maintenance

Every bespoke commission includes comprehensive care documentation and access to our onsite cleaning services, keeping your carpet in perfect condition for years to come.

  • Onsite cleaning services: Professional cleaning performed at your location by our trained team, coordinated to suit your schedule.
  • Gentle vacuuming: Regular vacuuming without rotating brush heads for routine upkeep.
  • Professional dry cleaning: Periodic cleaning using low-moisture extraction. Avoid high-alkaline detergents and excessive wetting.
  • Reversible construction: Double-face design allows periodic flipping, distributing wear and extending the carpet's functional lifespan.
  • Storage guidance: Store rolled, in a dry, ventilated space. Avoid prolonged compression or moisture exposure.
  • Delivery documentation: Care instructions, material composition details, and production batch records included with every commission.

For Interior Designers: Co-Designing Statement Carpets

Interior designers use Epirus bespoke carpets as statement pieces in residences, boutique hotels, and corporate spaces. Our collaboration begins with your creative direction — colour palette, pattern scale, texture — and translates into handcrafted wool carpets that match your aesthetic vision with precision. Whether you are designing a biophilic living room with natural wool textures, a minimalist bedroom with monochrome carpet, or a dramatic corporate foyer with geometric pattern, our bespoke service accommodates every specification.

We provide complimentary colour swatches, digital pattern previews, and production samples so designers can evaluate colour accuracy and material hand before commitment. No minimum order means even single-piece projects — one living room carpet, one hotel suite — are served without volume penalties.

Carpets Built to Last

Handcrafted bespoke wool carpets are more than objects — they are heirloom pieces built for generations. Epirus double-face reversible construction doubles the usable lifespan. Unlike industrial carpets that require replacement every 5–10 years, an Epirus carpet is designed to serve you for 30–50+ years with proper care.

For collectors and luxury homeowners, our bespoke pieces carry production documentation, a statement of provenance from a Protected Traditional Settlement, and a production batch number — ensuring authenticity and traceability. Our rare-breed line offers limited-production pieces from indigenous Greek sheep, creating truly unique carpets with heritage conservation value.
