Our Story
Epirus Carpet is based ( in spite of the times ) in the beautiful, traditional, acritic village of Plasio Filiates in
Thesprotia.
It is a family owned business founded in 1980.
Its roots date back to the late 50s where John B. Ninos organized, by setting up wooden looms, the homestead of the village. In 1980, son Basil I. Ninos founded “Epirus Carpets”.
The inventory of Ioannis Ninos combined with the mechanical knowledge of Basilis Ninos led to the creation of
unique, original carpet products. In 1982 our products were awarded the Gold Medal at the International
Handicrafts Exhibition in Munich.
Since then, our products have participated in dozens of local and national exhibitions.
Today “Epirus Carpets” is an alternative Greek proposal for flooring and decoration.
Our products adorn churches, guesthouses, businesses and homes all over Greece, as they find their place in
every area, due to the unique technique used in the production process.
This technique is the reason, which guarantees us the result that has established us in the field of artistic craft
business.
